Nano tank

A nano tank is a small aquarium (loosely, under about 40 litres) — appealing but less forgiving, because a small water volume lets temperature and chemistry swing faster.

Nano tanks suit small, specific stock (a betta, a shrimp colony, a nano shoal) and careful keepers — not "more fish in less space." The smaller the volume, the more stable your routine needs to be.

The common beginner mistake is treating a nano as a beginner tank; a larger tank is actually more forgiving of early mistakes.
